Mother’s day is in just a few days. Though many will have their plans set, some will be looking for something to do. In many cases, people will have ideas for dinner but will lack things that they can do during the day. That’s why today we’ve come up with ideas about things that you can do with your mothers this Mother’s Day.
As usual, Bodies in Motion is all about being active. That’s why this list of ten things to do on Mother’s Day is all about getting your family moving. If you have ideas, don’t feel shy about leaving them in the comments. You never know who could need a little more inspiration! 1. Take a Weekend Getaway Though it might seem like it’s a little late to plan a vacation, you might be surprised! Check Airbnb listings in cities that you love (and are within driving distance) to see what you could do for a night somewhere new. You’ll be able to explore a new city, eat new foods, and get out of the house for a short weekend getaway with the family! 2. Family Yoga If you’re looking to try something new, then try taking a family yoga class. You can find yoga classes all around major cities and often times. You can find specialty classes for beginners or groups. This family sized version of Mommy & Me will give you a bit of exercise as well as new memories to last a lifetime. 3. Go Outside No matter if you like hiking, camping, or glamping going outside is the perfect way to connect with your family and mother. Taking a weekend away from technology will allow you to bond as a group and talk about all the fun you’ve had together over the years. Don’t forget to pack your favorite campsite treats so that you can have a treat for all your activity for the day. 4. Host a Dance Party If you have a Wii, PlayStation, or Xbox, you can host a dance part using games like Just Dance. Another option is to use Youtube and look at options like the FItness Marshal. Lastly, just play music! In the end, you’re looking to burn some calories and have fun with your family. Let the younger generation teach the older generation, “how it’s done now,” and the other way around! 5. Garden Together If your mom is into gardening, then get the family together to get out and garden with her. This will allow for the whole family to take part in something that the mother enjoys while also getting some activity in during the day! Don’t forget to bring her something new she can add to her garden to commemorate this event! 6. Have a Massage Whether you go with the whole family, as a couple, or with a Mommy & Me package, booking a message is as good for your body as a whole workout. It’s a great way to relieve stress and flush toxins from your body. Try a hot massage followed by a good swim to get the whole effect this cleansing idea can bring. 7. Go to a Concert If you like the dancing idea, why not take it a step further? Pick a concert that your mother would love and get spots in the lawn. Use these spots to dance and sing like no one is watching. After all, who are you if you can’t have fun with your mom every once in a while? 8. Plan a Picnic If you live near a park or want to drive to one, then going to a picnic can be a great way to get out of the house and have some fun. Make sure to pack your frisbee so that you can have fun in the park before or after you eat. Other options include biking to the park or even going on a run while you are there! 9. Set up a Scavenger Hunt If your mom likes surprises, try setting up a mother’s day scavenger hunt. You can add in memories to make this a scavenger hunt to remember. Let the kids take part in its creation so that they feel connected to the celebration! 10. Help Her Explore a Passion Project If your mother has been talking about photography, then help her get into it. Get a cheaper digital camera and take her around town to find the best spots for photos. On the other hand, if she wants to learn to cook, take her to a cooking class. Though this could end up being less active than some of the other ideas, helping her with something she loves will be sure to make her happy.
