- Grab the lip of the I-Beam with both hands, and pull with your arms.
- Place your feet on the I-Beam, and push with your feet.
- Using this technique, walk your way up until you can reach the horizontal lip with your hands.
- After you grab onto the lip with both hands, transfer one of your hands to the other side, so both hands are on the same side.
- Transfer the opposite hand to the other side, so that you are now facing the opposite direction that you started.
- Bring both feet up, and hook them on the edge of the beam.
- Using this method slide down the beam, using your hands and feet to control your movement.
- Repeat the above steps once you reach the bottom of the beam, in order to reorient yourself in the correct direction.
- After you grab the vertical lip with both hands, proceed to hook the heels of both feet on the same lip
- Using this method, slowly slide your way down the beam, using your hands and heels of your feet to control your body
- Hold the lip with both hands, hook both heels on the lip, and squeeze the beam in-between your knees.
- Reach up with one hand as far as you can, and then match on the other side with your other hand. The further you reach up, the easier this obstacle will be.
- Once both hands are on the vertical lip of the I-Beam, get one leg up underneath you, so that you are in a squat position.
- From this position, use your feet to push you, and your arms to pull, until you are able to grab onto the horizontal lip of the I-Beam.
- Descend using the same steps as you did to ascend the vertical lip.
